The Pyramids of Giza are the largest and most recognizable pyramid structures in the world. They were built to honor certain Pharaohs of the fourth ruling dynasty of Egypt during a period known as the Old Kingdom. The Old Kingdom was the first great era of Egyptian civilization and lasted from 2686 to 2181 BCE.

The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, known commonly as the Egyptian Museum or Museum of Cairo, is home to an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian antiquities. It has 250,000 items, plus a massive amount of items in storerooms. On the ground floor are artifacts from the New Kingdom, the time period between 1550 and 1069 BC. These artifacts are generally larger than items created in earlier centuries. On the first floor there are artifacts from the final two dynasties of Egypt.
Two special rooms contain a number of mummies of kings and other royal family members of the New Kingdom.

Tour Overview

In this tour you will enjoy the most famous attractions in Cairo. You will start your tour from Luxor taking the flight to Cairo. And visit Giza plateau, the great Giza Pyramids, and the great Sphinx, the Egyptian Museum, Old Cairo, Coptic Cairo and ancient Khan El Khalili Bazaar the oldest market in Cairo.

What to Expect

Our representative will pick you early morning from your hotel in Luxor, then you will be  transferred to Luxor International Airport for your flight to Cairo where you will be met by our representative in Cairo to start your tour visiting Giza plateau, The Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus. After that you will visit the Great Sphinx, which dates from the time of Chephren, you will finish your tour in the Giza plateau visiting the Valley Temple, which belongs to the Pyramids of Chephren.

During your tour you will have your lunch meal at a local restaurant in Cairo. Then you will move to visit the Egyptian Museum which features artifacts from the Pharaonic period. The museum displays a magnificent collection of 5000 years of art which is considered the largest collection of Egyptian art in the world. Over 250,000 artifacts are presented, including the Tutankhamen collection of treasure. After that you will move to visit the Coptic Cairo visiting the Hanging Church and Ben Ezra Synagogue. Then, to Islamic Cairo, where you will enjoy Khan El Khalili, Cairo’s old bazaar. At the end, you will be transferred to Cairo Airport for your flight back to Luxor.
