Egypt: 7-Day Odyssey to Cairo, Luxor & Abu Simbel

Day 1: Arrival in Cairo – Welcome to Egypt
Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, you’ll be greeted by our representative who will assist with your luggage and transfer you to your hotel. Check in and enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 2: The Giza Plateau, Egyptian Museum & Cairo’s Heritage

• Morning visit to the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, and the Valley Temple.
• Optional: Enter one of the pyramids or take a camel/horse ride (additional fees apply).
• Visit authorized local workshops: papyrus, essence, and cotton, followed by a bazaar stop.
• Lunch at a local restaurant.
• Explore the Egyptian Museum, home to Tutankhamun’s treasures.
• Discover Islamic & Coptic Cairo: Mohamed Ali Mosque at the Citadel, Hanging Church, Ben Ezra Synagogue, and St. Sergius Church.
• Evening transfer to the station for your sleeper train to Luxor (dinner on board). Overnight on train.

Day 3: Luxor – West & East Banks

• Arrival in Luxor and transfer directly to tours.
• Explore the West Bank: Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut’s Temple, and the Colossi of Memnon.
• Afternoon visit to the East Bank: Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple.
• Transfer to your hotel in Luxor. Overnight in Luxor.

Day 4: Abu Simbel Temples & Return to Cairo by Sleeper Train

• Early morning departure (breakfast box included) to Abu Simbel, approx. 3.5 hours drive.
• Guided exploration of the Great Temple of Ramses II and the Temple of Hathor & Queen Nefertari.
• Return to Aswan station and board the sleeper train back to Cairo (dinner on board). Overnight on train.

Day 5: Arrival in Cairo & Optional Excursions

• Morning arrival in Cairo, transfer to your hotel.
• Free day at leisure or choose optional visits to Sakkara (Step Pyramid) or Memphis. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 6: Leisure or Optional Alexandria Day Trip

• Spend the day at leisure in Cairo.
• Optional: Full-day trip to Alexandria, visiting the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, Qaitbay Citadel, and Pompey’s Pillar.
• Return to Cairo. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 7: Departure from Cairo

• Breakfast at hotel.
• Transfer to Cairo International Airport for your departure.

Note: Egyptian trains are designed and maintained according to standards of quality determined by the Egyptian Railway Authority. The sleeper train from Cairo to Aswan takes about 14 hours, and the journey from Luxor to Cairo takes about 11 hours. To reduce time spent traveling, you can upgrade your trip package for about 140,00 Euro per person to travel by domestic flight instead (about 1.5 hours).
